Overview
The tutorial consists of 10 pages. It takes between 2-3
minutes to read each page. There is no homework or anything
to memorize. It's not a pass/fail educational process.
You may pause and come back to the tutorial as often as you
wish.
The way it works is:
You'll read a sentence or short paragraph.
You will agree with some of what you read and you'll
disagree with other things. At the bottom of each page
you'll have the option of sharing your thoughts on a
password-protected message board (forum). You can also wait
till the last page and summarize your experience of the
tutorial, or, not post to the forum at all but instead opt to read
other's posts.
The value of sharing on the forum is that it both anchors
what you know to be true and it presents your thoughts for
feedback and coaching from others, to include the Tutorial
Coach.
Because it will be your intention for the tutorial to work
you will notice yourself
automatically communicating more considerately and
effectively upon completing the tutorial. Communication
always moves others whereas talking keeps you and others stuck. It's
virtually impossible for you to complete the tutorial and
not have it impact you and yours favorably.
The teaching principle of the tutorial is referred to as discovery learning.
In lay terms this means that if you are doing the tutorial
then it's clearly time for you to bring to the front of your
mind certain communication principles that you know about or
understand but perhaps have yet to fully incorporate
into your present communication model (the way you
interact/relate with others).
You are a teacher. For the purpose of the tutorial we say
that a measure of your leadership-communication effectiveness
is the number of active participating church members and the
number who interact/socialize with each other throughout the
week. For clergy we include the weekly tithings. This is measured each week—last week's successful
communications (enrollments/participations/tithings) don't count for
this week. Click the Faqs button: |
